- Analysis of this book after thinking for a long while | Annika
-
In my opinion, this book is intended for people who have visual memory -as well as auditory memory, if you listen to the CDs. The book is well organised, with the meaning at the top right corner and the conjugation at the left; also the way of breaking down the verbs.Calidad
It is a good idea to use icons to help remember, for example, if the phrasal verb is separable or not (the little padlock).
I find the explanations about pronunciation, formation of nouns, etc, very useful but a bit repetitive.
The thing I don't like about this is that you can't study a phrasal verb entirely without listening to the CD. I agree that it is necessary to learn by listening to natives, but the problem is that every time I want to study phrasal verbs I have to use the computer, that means I can't study anywhere I want.
But I think the best way to really learn a phrasal verb is reading the translations many times, until you can translate it yourself. Then you can invent new sentences.
Anyway, this book really helps to learn, I recommend it, but the second book -in & out- is even better than this one. (Realizado el 21/08/11)
